I'm returning my Ryzen 5 7500F due to some issues with the memory controller (it's causing stability problems with dual-channel RAM). Now, I'm looking for a new CPU and I need some advice. My main focus is on gaming, especially CPU-intensive shooters like Warzone, Fortnite, Apex, and Valorant. Currently, I'm considering these options: 1) a used or refurbished Ryzen 7 7700X for €199, 2) a new Ryzen 5 9600X for €194, or 3) the Ryzen 5 7500X3D for €250 (though I'm hesitant to go over €200). Is the 7700X still a viable option for gaming, or would the 9600X be a better long-term investment? Is the extra cost for the 7500X3D justified because of its 3D cache? Here's my system setup: GPU: RX 6800 XT, Motherboard: Gigabyte B650 Eagle AX, Cooler: Thermalright Assassin X 120 SE. I'd appreciate any insights you have!

If I were you, I'd lean towards the 7500X3D, but the 9600X would definitely work well too. You might want to check some benchmarks on YouTube with setups similar to yours to see the FPS comparisons.
Go for the 9600X! I have both that and the 7500X3D, and honestly, the 9600X is simply the better option at the moment. Even with the price drop on the 7500X3D, I wouldn't spend more on it over the 9600X.
I believe the 7500X3D is a solid choice for gaming. If you're mainly into shooters, that extra cash could pay off with better FPS overall.
For CPU-intensive games, I'd say the 7500X3D is worth the investment. The increased cache makes a noticeable difference in performance, especially in demanding titles.
Honestly, 7500X3D or 9600X are your best bets. I see the 7700X as just a more core-heavy 9600X, and it might not be worth it for pure gaming purposes.

I just found out the 7500X3D is now €219. Can you explain why the 9600X is still the better choice, especially given that the price has changed?
