Best Device Management Solutions for Windows and Mac?

I'm looking for recommendations on device management software that can effectively manage both Windows PCs and Macs in a mixed office environment. We need a tool that allows us to deploy software and enforce patching and updates across both operating systems from a single platform. What are some options that work well?

Have you looked into Baramundi? It’s known to be effective for managing mixed environments, although I haven’t used it personally.

If you're already using Intune but find it lacking for Mac apps and security settings, it might be worth incorporating other tools. You mentioned NinjaOne too, which is good for certain tasks. Have a look at Workspace ONE and Barracuda as well, since many organizations utilize a mix of different solutions to handle both Macs and PCs effectively.

Intune can manage a lot, but deploying Mac applications can be a headache. You might want to create and import custom .mobileconfig files to help with software configuration. It’s a good workaround if the built-in features aren’t cutting it.

I get where you're coming from! It seems odd to use multiple tools, but in practice, most teams adapt to what fits their needs best, even if it involves some juggling.

Have you considered Intune? It's quite popular for MDM and works with both Windows and macOS, though MacOS might be a bit tricky. You can manage OS patches without much hassle. For application deployment, Intune isn’t very straightforward; some people prefer other tools like ManageEngine EndpointCentral, NinjaOne, or Patch My PC for that.

There are some great cross-platform MDM solutions such as Kandji, Jamf Pro (especially with Intune integration), and of course, Intune itself. They vary based on your specific needs and budget. Happy to give more detailed insights based on what you might be looking for!

I’ve had good experiences with Workspace ONE as it supports not just Windows and macOS, but also iOS, Linux, and Android. It’s definitely worth checking out!
