Hey everyone! I'm looking to set up an Ethernet connection for my PC and I need a bit of advice. I have to run the cable from my modem inside the house, out to the yard, and then back into the house to reach my PC. The total distance is around 65-75 feet, so I'm planning to get a 75-foot cable. I want to future-proof my setup and noticed there are different types of "cat" cables available, specifically cat 6, 7, and 8. Since I want to make sure I'm covered for the future (even if I might not actually use the highest speeds), should I just go for a 75-foot indoor/outdoor cat 8 cable? I've heard that cat 8 is mainly used in server rooms and that distance could impact speeds too. I'd appreciate any insights you have! Thanks!

You definitely don't need cat 8 for your setup. A 75-foot CAT 6A cable that's rated for outdoor use would work just fine. Look for one with shielded cable and RJ45 connectors to ensure good performance. That should future-proof you pretty well without breaking the bank. Good luck!
Honestly, CAT 6 is the most budget-friendly option and it should be more than enough for connecting to just one PC. You won't need more than 10 Gbps anytime soon!
Thanks for the advice!
