Best GPU for 9800X3D: 1440p vs 4K Gaming Choices?

Hey everyone! I'm planning to build a new PC using the AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D, but I'm not in a hurry since my current setup is just fine. I'm hoping to have it ready for the release of GTA 6 and typically purchase parts on sale. Currently, I have an EVGA RTX 3080 with a 5800X3D, using a 27" 1440p 240hz G7 monitor.

I originally wanted to go for a 4K setup with a 32" OLED monitor like those from Alienware, ASUS, or LG. However, I've come across a lot of discussions suggesting that 4K is still struggling to maintain high framerates alongside ultra graphics. Framerate is really important to me; if 1440p gives me better performance, I'm okay sticking with that.

I've been having some VRAM issues at ultra settings with newer games, so I'm looking for advice on which GPU to upgrade to. I'm trying to reuse as much from my current system as possible, and while price isn't a huge concern, I want to get the best value for my money. Here's my current build listed in detail so you can see what I'm working with. Any suggestions?

If you're looking at 4K 240hz, your best bet is definitely the 4090 or 5090. Those will give you the power you need for ultra settings at that resolution.

Honestly, you might want to consider the 9070XT. It's solid for value, and I can push 4K on that with over 100 FPS. Just keep in mind, if you're into ray tracing, it'll drop your FPS significantly.

I'm on a 5070 Ti and paired with the 9800X3D, but I'm struggling to stay at 60 FPS in 4K with some settings turned down. Just a heads-up!
