Best GPU Options for Upgrading a 2700x for 1080p Gaming?

Hey everyone! I've got a Ryzen 7 2700x and 16GB of RAM just sitting around since I upgraded my own setup. I'm planning to build a new PC for a friend who's aiming to game at 1080p. He's got around 700€ to spend on the parts. I'm considering either the RX 9060 or RTX 5060 with 16GB for the GPU since he might upgrade the CPU later. Any suggestions on what GPU would work best for this build? Also, just a heads up—I'm in France and looking to buy new components instead of used.

I would suggest going for the Ryzen 5600 with either the RX 5070 or RX 9070 XT. But make sure you're on the lookout for a PSU and case as well—it could get tricky if you're starting from scratch!

Same here! I need to grab all those basics too, so it makes planning a bit tougher.

Honestly, pairing a Ryzen 5600 or something like a 5700x with the RX 9060 XT 16GB or RTX 5060 Ti 16GB would make for an awesome setup for 1080p gaming. Those options should definitely keep your friend sorted for a while!

Yeah, a CPU upgrade is key here, but it's good to know that's part of the plan for the future!

You won't need anything higher than the RX 9060 XT 16GB right now. Just keep in mind, you'll want to upgrade that CPU down the line to take full advantage of a better GPU!

Considering your budget and future-proofing with the AM4 socket, I'd recommend the RX 9060 XT. The extra VRAM and new RDNA 4 architecture will really pay off when he decides to upgrade the CPU.
