Best GPU Replacement for Light 1440p Gaming?

I'm looking for suggestions on a GPU to replace my aging EVGA 1080 Ti Hybrid, which is starting to fail. I don't game much these days, mainly enjoying light titles like AVN on Steam, World of Warships, and some older games. I still have my Intel 9700k setup with 32GB of DDR4 RAM and a Dell U2515H monitor that runs at 1440p. I'm not interested in high refresh rates or 4K gaming right now but might consider a 4K upgrade if I ever replace my current monitor. I'm also not looking to upgrade my PSU, so I'd prefer GPUs that use the traditional 8-pin connectors. I'm considering a Powercolor 9060 XT for its quietness or a refurbished Asus Dual OC 4070 I found online for $580. What do you think would be the best choice for my needs?

The 9060 XT should do just fine for 1440p gaming, especially since you mentioned you don't plan to shift to 4K gaming anytime soon. If you eventually want more power for 4K down the line, maybe look at the 9070 XT, but it might be overkill for your current gaming habits.

If you're leaning towards something a bit older, the GTX 1660 is still a solid card for casual gaming. I've got one lying around if you're interested, but if you're set on new parts, definitely consider cards from the older generation, like the 7000 series. They’ll work better with your system without causing any stability issues.

I’d say stick with the classic 1080 Ti for now, especially since you prefer a simpler setup and don’t want to deal with the newer 12vHPWR connectors. An air-cooled version could get you through more casual gaming without hassle.
