Hey everyone! I'm seeking advice on upgrading my GPU for a budget gaming PC. Currently, I'm using an RX 6400, and I want to enhance my gaming experience, especially with games like Elden Ring and Cyberpunk. My goal is to achieve a smooth framerate on my 4K monitor by rendering at 1080p with upscaling techniques like FSR. Here are my specs: AMD Ryzen 5 1600 CPU, RX 6400 GPU, B450 motherboard, 16GB DDR4 RAM, and a 500W power supply. I've heard that a used AMD Radeon RX 6600 could be a solid upgrade since it's recommended for a 450W PSU and apparently offers around 3x the performance. Is the RX 6600 the right choice, or are there other GPUs I should consider within my budget and power constraints? Thanks in advance for your help!

Definitely go for the RX 6600! That's a great shout for your setup. It’ll give you a noticeable boost, especially for the games you mentioned. But if you're open to alternatives, you could also consider the Nvidia 580, it's a bit older but still gets the job done. Just make sure to check compatibility with your PSU!
Just a heads up, you might want to think about upgrading your CPU too. The Ryzen 5 5600 or even stepping up to a 3600 would provide a significant performance boost over your current 1600. Also, which specific power supply model do you have? I want to make sure it's adequate for any upgrade you choose!
Yeah, I've been considering a CPU upgrade down the line, but I'm focusing on the GPU right now since that's where I'm bottlenecked. I have an EVGA W1 500W 80+ PSU.
Just a word of caution, don't expect to fully hit 4K performance with the RX 6600 in those games, even with FSR. It should perform better than your current GPU, but 4K gaming might still be a stretch.
Haha, thanks for the quick reply! Appreciate the tips!
