Best GPU Upgrade for My Gaming PC?

I've been using a GeForce RTX 1660 Super for about four years and I'm realizing it's falling short for new games. I recently couldn't even run the new DOOM game, which was a real wake-up call! I've hesitated to upgrade because I thought I didn't really need it, but now I'm set on making a change. My PC specs are:

- CPU: Ryzen 5 3600
- Motherboard: Tomahawk B450

I mainly play competitive shooters at 1080p on low settings for higher FPS, so I'm looking for a solid GPU that won't break the bank. If I need to consider upgrading anything else for this new GPU to work effectively, I'm open to suggestions. What do you think would be a good GPU choice?

An AMD RX 6600 would be a fantastic upgrade. It’ll give you a noticeable bump in performance, and it's well within the minimum requirements for the new DOOM.

I recommend the 9060 XT 16GB. It's a great value and performs well for the price. Anything cheaper might not give you the performance boost you need. If you're okay with lower settings, you could also consider the 9060 XT 8GB for some savings.

First, can you tell me what wattage your power supply unit (PSU) is? That’s crucial for determining compatibility. Also, how much are you willing to spend?

I have a 650W PSU and 16GB of RAM.
