I'm starting a BSN nursing program that is mostly online, and my current laptop is pretty old and not reliable. I need help finding a good laptop specifically for online classes. I'm not very tech-savvy, so I'm looking for something that runs well, has decent battery life, and provides enough storage for my assignments. My budget is ideally under $500, but I'm open to spending a bit more if I can find a seller with a payment plan. Any recommendations on what specs I should look for would be greatly appreciated!

A refurbished or used older MacBook Air could be a good option as well. They tend to last longer and are quite reliable. It could save you some money while still giving you the performance you need. Just make sure to check the warranty and processor specs to ensure it’s still capable of handling your schoolwork.
For online school, you don't need anything too fancy. I'd recommend looking for at least 8GB of RAM and an SSD instead of an HDD for better performance. Many students have good experiences with budget models from Dell, HP, or Lenovo. They usually offer decent battery life and functionality without breaking the bank.
Thank you for the tips! It's great to have specific specs to search for!

Good point! Getting a refurbished one can be a solid choice, especially if it's been through a quality check.
