I have an old HP Pavilion x360 convertible laptop with an Intel Pentium N5000 processor. It has inconsistent RAM information; it says it has 4 GB, but some sources online indicate 8 GB. I initially tried installing Ubuntu 25.10, but it's running really slow. I'm looking for recommendations on lightweight Linux distributions that are suitable for study tasks like note-taking and completing homework. Have you considered ChromeOS Flex? It has a touch-friendly interface and is generally lightweight. You can create a bootable USB with the Chromebook recovery utility. It's pretty smooth on hardware like yours.
If you want to stick with Ubuntu, you might want to try Lubuntu. It's designed specifically for lower-spec hardware and could perform better on your laptop. Definitely worth a look!
