Best Linux Distro for Gaming and Graphic Design?

I'm a Windows user looking to try out my first Linux distribution. I primarily use my PC for gaming and graphic design work. It would be great to find a distro that has built-in customization features, making it easier to tweak visual elements and even design some myself down the line. Any recommendations on what I should start with?

There are so many Linux distributions out there, around a thousand! The best way to find one you like is to experiment with them. Consider using a Ventoy stick, which lets you try out multiple distros without installing them directly. I usually recommend checking out the top 20 distros ranked on sites like Distrowatch. Enjoy exploring!

You might want to try a few different distros to see which one fits you best. Many people really enjoy Bazzite for its simplicity and gaming performance. Personally, I use Fedora with the KDE desktop environment; it's great for gaming too!

If you're using Adobe Suite for design, just a heads up—most of that software doesn't work well on Linux at all. It's really more about the desktop environment you choose rather than the distro itself. I suggest looking into Arch derivatives, especially KDE Plasma, since it's highly customizable.

It all depends on the type of design work you do. If Adobe is essential to your workflow, you might want to consider dual-booting with Windows or sticking to a Mac. However, if you're moving away from Adobe like I did, there are alternatives like Affinity that can work on Linux!

Bazzite KDE seems to be a solid choice for gaming and general use. It's easy to work with and lets you customize your desktop without much risk of breaking anything. Just keep in mind that Adobe products don’t run on Linux, which can be a dealbreaker for some.
