I'm looking to switch my Lenovo gaming PC to Linux and need help choosing the right distribution. My laptop is already running Mint, but that's not for gaming. Currently, I'm on Windows 11 x64. Here are my specs: AMD Ryzen 7 5700G CPU, Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 GPU, and 16GB of RAM. I want to note that I don't play any games that require anti-cheat systems, but I regularly use VR, and I'm curious about how well Linux supports that. Also, I have a Bluetooth headset that unfortunately doesn't work with Mint, plus I use two high refresh rate monitors connected via DisplayPorts. I've heard there are issues with Nvidia on Bazzite, so I'm leaning towards PopOS or CachyOS. I'm open to troubleshooting, but as a gamer, I'd prefer something that works without too much hassle. Any recommendations?

I've heard great things about CachyOS, especially for its customization options and kernel performance enhancements. It has a vast range of desktop environments that are easy to install, so if you're into tweaking things, you might enjoy it! But honestly, PopOS is also a solid choice if you’re looking for a more streamlined experience without much setup after installation. Both are good picks for gaming!
If you're really into gaming, definitely consider Garuda Linux! It's designed with gamers in mind, and the performance is impressive. But if you want something that you can just set and forget, Bazzite is user-friendly and works well with Nvidia cards—most series after 1000 should run smoothly on Linux if you have the right drivers.
Any well-maintained distro should work for gaming. It's less about the specific distro and more about whether it sets you up with the necessary drivers and configurations. Ubuntu is a popular choice too, and Nobara is optimized for gaming as well. It's all Linux under the hood, so you can’t really go wrong!

Totally agree with you! I found Bazzite really easy to manage after I set it up. It's great for a console replacement too!
