I'm looking for a user-friendly Linux distribution for my mom, who isn't very tech-savvy. She has an HP laptop with an AMD A10 CPU and an AMD dedicated GPU. She's currently using Windows 10 and relies on the following software:
- PDF: Foxit Reader (or any PDF-compatible program would work)
- Office suite: LibreOffice
- Browser: Google Chrome
- NAPS2 for scanning
- Occasionally plays games like Microsoft Solitaire
She has some experience with Ubuntu and Mint from a decade ago, but I'm open to suggestions for other easy-to-use distros that would suit her needs.

I installed Mint on my mom's laptop, and it works great! I think the Cinnamon desktop is much more user-friendly for non-tech people compared to GNOME.
If she loves the Windows interface, Mint or Zorin could be great choices. They provide a familiar look while being easy to use.
Honestly, any distro will do. But if she's already familiar with Ubuntu and Mint, why change? Stick with Mint; it's a favorite for a reason!
I like MX Linux too because of the useful tools it provides, but it does require maintenance with each major update. For a 'set it and forget it' option, check out Rocky Linux for stability.
I'd recommend Ubuntu LTS for a low-maintenance setup. Just make sure to enable unattended updates, and she'll be all set!
