Best Linux Distro for My Setup?

I'm looking for some advice on which Linux distribution would work best for my hardware. Here are my specs: Intel i5 650, NVIDIA GT 730 (GK208B Fermi), 8GB DDR3 RAM, and a 256GB SSD. I'm a complete beginner with Linux, and I want something that runs smoothly without putting too much strain on my system. Any recommendations for a good and light distro?

I've been on Arch with similar specs, and it runs fine for me. Just keep in mind that Arch can be a bit tricky for newcomers. If you're looking for something easier, Linux Mint, Elementary OS, Pop OS, Ubuntu, Fedora, and OpenSUSE are all great options too! You really have a lot of choices.

Any distro should work with your specs, but the CPU might be a bit of a limiting factor. I suggest trying Linux Mint with the XFCE desktop—it’s lightweight and user-friendly. KDE and Cinnamon editions are also good options. If you're up for it, check out Fedora or different spins of Ubuntu that offer alternative desktops. Just a heads up, you might find setting up the GPU drivers a bit challenging. Good luck!

You might want to consider MX Linux. It's quite user-friendly and performs well on older hardware. It's a solid choice for beginners.
