Best Linux Distro for Setting Up a Kiosk Computer with Limited Access

I'm looking to set up a computer that will run Chrome and connect to a cloud service for customer checkouts on an iPad. The setup also needs to support a barcode scanner and a printer. I want to lock down the computer so employees can only use it for these specific tasks, and I'm thinking of using the UniFi system to limit internet access. Could anyone recommend a Linux distribution that would work well for this kind of configuration?

Most Linux distros should work fine for your needs! They can all run Chrome and allow you to create user accounts with limited privileges so employees can't install software. It's pretty flexible! Do you have any particular ones you're considering?

It sounds like you're aiming to create a kiosk setup, which is quite common! Just ensure the distro you choose allows easy management of user permissions. As for printing and scanning, most distros shouldn't have a problem with that, just double-check compatibility beforehand. Have you thought about using a lightweight distro?

If you want suggestions, I recommend checking out some distro selection resources online. Remember to take regular backups and test in a virtual machine before committing to anything! This way, you can experiment without risking the actual setup.
