Hey folks! I'm transitioning from Windows to Linux for the first time and could use your advice. I'm currently using an HP Notebook 15 with an Intel i7 5th Gen processor, 16 GB of DDR2 RAM, and a mix of a 250 GB SSD and an HDD. Windows 10 has become really slow and bloated for me, so I want to do a clean installation of Linux instead. What distros would you recommend that prioritize performance and have a clean user interface?

I get that you're just trying to find the right fit, but maybe consider looking through some resources first? There's a lot of good info out there on migration. Check out the migration page linked in the comments.

For a solid experience, I recommend trying Debian. It's known for its stability and performance, plus you can customize the UI to be as clean as you want. Perfect for someone coming from Windows!

If you're looking for something user-friendly from the get-go, check out Ubuntu or Linux Mint. They both have great communities and a clean interface right out of the box. There's also plenty of support available if you run into issues!
