Hey everyone! I'm looking for recommendations on lightweight Linux distributions that would run well on my old PC. It has an AMD A4 processor from the 7th generation and only 4GB of RAM. I've tried running Windows on it, but that just doesn't work. What options do you think would be best?

For a PC like yours, I highly recommend Linux Mint with the XFCE desktop environment. It's user-friendly and won't hog your RAM. Other lightweight options you could consider are Xubuntu or even Elementary OS which has a nice interface. Generally, anything with XFCE or MATE should work.

I agree with you! Also, if you’re looking for something super simple, you might want to try Puppy Linux. It's designed to run on older hardware.

You could also check out Void Linux with XFCE. It's pretty lightweight and should perform well on your setup. It might need a bit of tinkering though, so just keep that in mind if you're not too familiar with Linux.
