Hey everyone! I'm putting together my first PC and I'm limited to certain components from a single store. I'm planning to use a Ryzen 9 7900x with a 4060 ti GPU, ideal for tasks like Sketchup, CAD, and some casual gaming like CIV 6. Here are my motherboard options:
- ASUS TUF Gaming B850M-E Wifi - $222
- Gigabyte B850M Gaming X WIFI6E - $218
- MSI Mag B650M Mortar Wifi - $227
- MSI Pro B650M-A WIFI - $191.

Which one do you think would be best for my build? Also, I have a couple of questions about my PSU: Is 850W enough for my setup? Here are other PSU options I'm considering:
- Cooler Master G800 80+ Gold Certified
- Gigabyte UD750GM PG5 V2 750W ATX 3.1 PCIe Gen 5.1 80+ Gold
- Seasonic Core GX-750 ATX 3 750W 80+ Gold ATX 3.1 & PCIe Gen 5
- Thermaltake Toughpower GT 850W 80+ Gold.

Thanks for any guidance!

I’d go with the MSI Mag B650M Mortar Wifi. It has better VRM quality for better CPU heat management, especially for your setup. The TUF model seems to have some compromises, particularly the E version you're looking at. As for your PSU, 850W is plenty for your configuration! If cost is a concern, the Thermaltake could be a good choice too and is often cheaper.

That makes sense, I was leaning towards the newer B850M but I appreciate the insight on the VRMs!

Yeah, definitely focus on VRMs for a more stable build.

For your motherboard, I'd recommend looking into the ASUS TUF or the MSI Mag B650M Mortar. Generally, the TUF, Mortar, and Aorus Elite offer great quality. The B850 models are a new refresh with some nice improvements, so the TUF is a solid pick unless you need specific features. The B650 Mortar is also good, but it might not offer everything you're looking for. Where your PSU is concerned, the DeepCool should be just fine for your setup, handling up to 525 watts easily!

Just to add, the B850TUF is an E variant and may not have the same quality you're expecting from TUF boards, just a heads up!

And yeah, your PSU is more than enough unless you're planning on going for super high-end GPUs!
