Hey everyone, I'm in the process of building my gaming PC but I need some help finalizing my setup. I already have a Ryzen 7 5700x3D and a GTX 1080ti that my friend gave me, along with a 650 watt power supply. I've got a budget of about £400 to get the remaining parts. Can anyone suggest what components I should pick up? Thanks!

Thanks for the tips everyone! I already have a monitor, keyboard, and mouse, so I just need the parts to finish the build. Sounds like I definitely need that B550 motherboard, some 32GB RAM, and a case. I'll also make sure to get a cooler for the CPU!

Make sure to check the quality of your 650w PSU before buying new parts. You want something reliable, as a low-quality PSU can risk your components. If it's decent, you're good to go!

Since you already have a decent CPU and GPU, focusing on the motherboard and RAM would be smart. A B550 motherboard would be a solid choice, and with your budget, I'd go for 16GB or even 32GB of DDR4 3600 MHz RAM. This setup will work well with your Ryzen processor and support future upgrades too.

For storage, I recommend getting at least a 1TB NVMe SSD for fast load times. You might also want to grab a decent case that fits your style, but don’t spend too much on it! You could look to leave around £130-160 for a monitor that has 1080p or even 1440p with a good refresh rate. And just to note, you’ll likely need a cooler for that Ryzen CPU since it doesn’t come with one.
