I need some advice on building a new computer for my dad, who wants to use it mainly for minor video editing and recording/mixing music. I've only built gaming computers in the past, so I'm not sure what's best suited for video editing and music production. Honestly, that build looks too much like a gaming PC. When it comes to video editing, what exactly will he be doing? Is it just simple trimming and combining clips, or more complex projects with multiple layers and effects?
Haha, yeah, it's pretty much what I know! He mentioned using WonderShare Filmora Pro for video editing and Cakewalk Sonar for music, so it's not super complex. He creates promotional videos for his band, nothing too professional.
