I'm looking for a reliable power supply unit (PSU) for my upcoming build, which will include an RTX 5070 Ti and an i5 14600K. The maximum wattage my system will ever consume is about 771W, which has me debating whether to get an 850W PSU or stretch my budget for a 1000W PSU. I want to future-proof my setup, but I'm also wary of overspending on parts that could take away from other components.

For future-proofing, go with the 1000W. I suggest the Phanteks AMP GH 1000W Platinum. It's full modular, which helps with cable management and cleanliness in your case.
If you want something good without losing too much budget, check out the Montech Century II. It's a solid 1050W PSU available for just $109 on Amazon.
You should be good with an 850W PSU! Your CPU and GPU together will likely max out at around 500W, even accounting for a bit of extra leeway. If your CPU were to spike to 300W, that keeps you at 600W total, so 850W gives you plenty of headroom for fans and SSDs.
I get where you're coming from, but don’t forget about the TPU for facial recognition you're using, which could push things closer to that 771W. Keep that in mind when choosing!

I ran the numbers and got close to 678W when factoring everything in. If you're looking to future-proof for potential upgrades, you might want to consider a 1000W PSU though.
