Hey everyone, I'm looking for some guidance since my friends (who are all about Intel) haven't been much help lately. Right now, I've got an i5 9400f paired with a 3070Ti, and I'd like to know which Ryzen CPU would best complement my setup. I mainly game with AAA titles, watch movies, and do some video editing. I'm not super familiar with Ryzen, so I could use a solid starting point. Any suggestions would be awesome! Also, feel free to share any thoughts on motherboards and cases!

Since I switched from a 9900K to a 7800X3D, I've been thrilled with AM5! Just curious—what resolution do you usually game at? And what games are your favorites? Knowing this can help pinpoint the best CPU for your needs.
You should definitely go with an AM5 board; it's the latest socket for AMD and will be good for a few years. I recommend the Ryzen 7 7800X3D if you want something really powerful—it comes with extra L3 cache for quicker data access. But if you’re looking for something a bit cheaper, the 7600X or 7500F are also solid options. Just be cautious with budget boards, as there have been stability issues with cheaper ASRock models when using fast RAM over 6000MT/s.
If you're considering lower-end AM5 options, the 7500F, 7600X, and 9700X are all excellent choices that won't bottleneck your GPU. I switched to the 7800X3D from an 8700K, and it's incredible! It’s energy efficient and performs really well. For overclocking, the 9800X3D is awesome—but if you're not into water cooling, air should work just fine.
