Best Temporary GPU Options for My High-End PC Build

Hey everyone! I'm looking to improve my PC build and need some advice. Here are my current specs:
- CPU: Intel i9-14900KS
- CPU Cooler: NZXT Kraken Elite 360 RGB
- Motherboard: Asus ROG MAXIMUS Z790 DARK HERO
- RAM: Corsair Vengeance RGB 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR5-6000
- Storage: Samsung 990 Pro 2 TB
- Case: NZXT H9 Flow (2025)
- PSU: ROG Thor 1200W Platinum III

Originally, I planned to go all out and get a 4090 GPU after building this rig, but that hasn't happened yet. So, I have a couple of questions: First, what's the cheapest Nvidia GPU I can use with my i9-14900KS without bottlenecking while I save up for a 5080? Second, besides the GPU, what components could I upgrade to ensure I have the latest tech? Everything is great, but I'm a bit of a perfectionist and want the best versions available. Thanks for your help!

You've got a powerful setup, and honestly, unless you're just itching to upgrade, it might not really need much besides a GPU. For a placeholder, think about getting something like a used 3080; you can find them around $300-330. They won't bottleneck your CPU and should work well until you're ready for the 5080!

Thanks for the suggestion! I appreciate that. I just want something decent while I save up.

Honestly, going for the latest tech isn’t always necessary. Lots of people chase after that perfect build, but it’s about balance! If you can get your hands on a 5070 or 5070 ti, that will serve you well too. Just make sure your BIOS is up to date to avoid any issues with your setup.

Thanks! I’ll check that out, never updated a BIOS before!

Instead of stressing about bottlenecks, just choose a GPU that fits your budget. If you're looking for something cheap, a used 2060 could work. But if you're thinking about the future, the 4070 or 4070 ti is a better choice even if it costs a bit more. You'll get way better performance without breaking the bank!

I want to game at 4K! So I guess going for the 4070 ti makes more sense than a lower-end option.
