Hey all! I'm looking for some guidance on upgrading my desktop PC to fully take advantage of my new 32" LG OLED monitor. I'm considering a jump to the RX 9070XT GPU, but I'm uncertain if my current CPU will be a limiting factor. From what I've read, as long as I game at 1440p, I should be fine. Is upgrading my GPU the best move for me right now? Here are my specs:
- RAM: 32 GB D4 3600
- CPU: Ryzen 7 5800x
- GPU: RTX 3070
- PSU: EVGA 750GT 80+G
I enjoy a mix of gaming experiences, including single-player titles like Baldur's Gate 3, Resident Evil, Elden Ring, Cyberpunk, and I'm interested in playing Crimson Desert, along with some multiplayer like Nightreign and Rocket League. I'd appreciate any advice you might have!

Your CPU should handle 1440p gaming pretty well, but since you've got a 4K OLED monitor, it might struggle a bit with that resolution. Upgrading to the RX 9070XT sounds like a solid move, especially since it's a great card for 4K gaming if you don’t mind dialing down some settings from ultra. Just keep in mind that at 4K, a better CPU would help with frame consistency, so eventually considering a CPU upgrade would be wise. If you’re looking to save cash right now, you might also think about a complete system rebuild later on.

Thanks for the input! I definitely want to ensure I’m making the most out of my new setup without immediate bottlenecks.
