Hey everyone! I'm pretty new to PC gaming and need some help. I've been sticking to consoles for over 15 years and now I'm ready to dive into PC gaming with my Legion 7i Gen 9, which unfortunately doesn't have an ethernet port. I'm looking for a good USB-C to Ethernet adapter that is reliable. I've come across a lot of technical jargon that I find confusing, so I'm hoping to get some straightforward advice. If I buy one and run into issues, I want to know how to troubleshoot it. I want to avoid wasting money on a bad adapter, especially if I'm spending around $50. Any recommendations would be really appreciated!

Good point! If your ISP supports 2.5 Gbps and you have a compatible router, then going for the 2.5 model could be worth it. But if not, a regular gigabit adapter will work perfectly for online gaming and browsing.
Any gigabit USB-C adapter should work just fine for you. I've bought several of these adapters for work, and they tend to be pretty reliable. If you're looking for a recommendation, something like the Anker USB-C Ethernet adapter has worked well for me. Just make sure to check the specs and compatibility before purchasing!
You might want to consider a 2.5 Gbps version, but unless your other devices—like your router—also support those speeds, it's not going to make much difference. Do you have a 2.5 Gbps internet connection, or is gigabit speed sufficient for your needs?
