I'm having some trouble with my Dell G15 5530 laptop. About a month ago, the built-in WiFi stopped working intermittently, disappearing and reappearing briefly before I ended up using a USB WiFi adapter. Now, today, the Bluetooth has completely vanished as well. I got a full Windows reinstall from Microsoft support, but unfortunately, the problems are still there. They mentioned it could be a hardware issue. So right now, the situation is that my built-in WiFi and Bluetooth aren't working at all, and I'm relying on that USB adapter. Is there a chance that this is related to a faulty wireless card or could it be something else hardware-related? Are there any other troubleshooting steps I can try before considering a repair? Thanks for any help!

I tried using a different system, but neither the Bluetooth nor WiFi showed up, so I guess it confirms a hardware issue. Do you think it could just be the adapter malfunctioning, or is it more likely a motherboard problem?
It sounds like a frustrating situation! A good way to check if it’s a hardware issue is to use a non-Windows operating system like Linux. You can create a bootable USB with a distribution that has a live environment, like Ubuntu 24.04.3 LTS. Booting from that will let you see if your built-in WiFi and Bluetooth work without making changes to your current setup. If they don’t work in Linux either, it likely indicates a hardware failure, possibly with the wireless card or motherboard.
