I'm looking for recommendations on the best VPN applications that come with a graphical user interface (GUI) for Ubuntu. Coming from Windows, I found it simple to install major VPN platforms, but I'm not sure how to approach this on Linux. What are your experiences with VPNs on Ubuntu? Any specific apps you'd suggest?

I've been using ProtonVPN, and it works quite well for me. They provide clear instructions on their website for terminal installation, so it's just a matter of copying and pasting the commands.

For many users, OpenVPN is the go-to on Linux since not all VPNs offer GUIs. I have my VPNs set up as 'networks' in the Network Manager by importing OpenVPN configuration files from my provider, which doesn't have the best Linux client.

Surfshark is a solid option! You can easily download a snap package for it, and it's user-friendly for Ubuntu.
