Hey everyone! I'm looking to teach myself R and Python since I have a basic background in JavaScript and Java, enough to handle some simple web development tasks. I'm really interested in using these languages for future research roles, particularly in data analysis. Are there any free resources or websites that you recommend for getting started? Thanks in advance!

I'd recommend starting with a solid roadmap from a good website and then finding video tutorials on specific topics. This approach has really helped me as I've learned Python!
For R, I suggest checking out the free book 'R for Data Science'. Just a heads up, R works quite differently from JavaScript, Java, and Python, so give yourself some time to adjust. Also, if you're new to statistics, it might be a bit challenging at first! As for Python, I took some college courses where we covered both languages, but I find Python less intuitive for statistics. I can't really share many resources since I'm not the biggest fan of Python, but I hope this helps!
How did you learn JavaScript and Java? You could probably use similar resources to grasp R and Python. Just curious!
I learned through high school AP classes like APCSP and APCSA. I know the basics but I'm looking for more targeted resources for R.
Thank you so much!
