I'm in a bit of a pickle trying to manage my 4-year-old's access to the internet on his Samsung Galaxy Tab. He's incredibly bright and has already figured out how to bypass restrictions on an iPad's Guided Access and Android's app pinning feature. He needs access to certain approved apps that use the internet, but I want to keep him away from random internet browsing. I've run into a roadblock with the Google App not being disableable through Family Link, and any app that connects to the web grants him unintended access. What are some effective solutions or setups I can try to get this sorted?

Honestly, I don’t think a 4-year-old really needs internet access at all. I’d recommend just putting the iPad away until he’s older. It’s pretty simple and saves the hassle!
You might want to check the parental controls on your router. Most modern routers let you set restrictions for specific devices like your child's tablet. You can create a list of allowed websites, really limiting access to just the apps and sites you approve. This could help keep your little one from wandering into the vast internet.
Router-side settings can be a bit tricky to set up, but it's worth the effort. Definitely focus on a whitelist instead of a blacklist; it'll be way more effective.

Totally agree! I did this with my kid's tablet, only allowed a couple of safe sites, and it's been a game-changer. Just be ready for him to try and find loopholes!
