I've got an HP Pavilion Gaming 15-ec0007r, and I recently tried to upgrade my RAM from 8 GB (two 4 GB sticks) to 16 GB (two 8 GB sticks from Crucial at 3200 MHz). Now, after installing the new RAM, I keep getting a message that says, 'CMOS Checksum is invalid,' and it reboots to a 'Boot device not found' error. I've tried using ESC, F2, or F10, but nothing works. If I revert to one stick of RAM or the old sticks, I still see the same 'Boot Device Not Found' screen. What can I do?

It sounds like there might be something else loose in your setup, or the laptop can't detect the boot drive. Have you tried entering the BIOS? Sometimes pressing the DEL key can get you there, but it could vary by model.
Another option you could consider is to remove and reseat the hard drive, especially if you have an M.2 drive. Sometimes that alone can fix the boot device error you're encountering.

I can't access the BIOS either! It looks like the laptop isn't responding to any keys, and I’m pretty sure I didn’t mess with the keyboard connector. I'm starting to think the new RAM might have messed up the BIOS somehow, and I'm at a loss for what to do.
