C: Drive Issues on Windows Laptop – Need Help!

I'm encountering a significant problem with my Windows laptop. My C: drive isn't working correctly – apps installed on it won't launch, and I'm unable to open the Task Manager at all. I've restarted my laptop multiple times, but it hasn't helped. I'm running Windows 11 Home, build number 26200.7623, on a Samsung Galaxy Book 4 equipped with an i7 processor, 16GB of RAM, and a 512GB SSD. I remember clearing some old update files to free up storage space recently. When I consulted with a troubleshooting bot, it suggested that my User Account Control (UAC) might be disabled. I followed the instructions and ran some commands in the terminal, but to no avail. If anyone has suggestions on how to resolve this issue, I'd greatly appreciate it!

If your drive is bad, it's time to replace it.

Wait, so I might really have to replace the SSD after just deleting some files?

You could try using some drive repair commands; just search for them online. If that doesn't work, creating a Windows repair media could help. Worst-case scenario, you might need a new drive and clone your data to that.

What if I just reinstall Windows? I’ve heard that can fix a lot of issues.

Hold up! First, let's get some logs. Download HWInfo to check if the SSD is failing. I doubt the SSD is the issue; it might just be a messed-up Windows installation. Let me know what you find out or if you need further assistance!

The SSD health looks good at 98%. There were 0 media errors but 4 unsafe shutdowns. What does that mean?

You seem to have a serious issue with Windows Explorer itself. The best way to handle this might be to format your PC, delete the partitions, and do a clean install of the operating system along with all your drivers and apps. Best of luck!

Got it! I’ll back everything up before formatting my PC. Thanks for the tip!

It sounds like you might have accidentally deleted some important registry files. Have you thought about restoring your system to a previous state? That might help recover any essential data or settings you’ve lost.

How do I go about restoring my data? I'm really concerned since I might have deleted critical files.
