C# vs. Java: Which Should I Learn for My Career?

I'm a computer science student and have been working with the MERN stack for full-stack development. Lately, I've taken an interest in backend development, particularly in areas like fintech or enterprise software. I have a bit of Java experience from required courses, but I'm trying to decide whether to dive deeper into C# or stick with Java. Which language do you think will have more demand in the future?

I've switched from Java to C#, and honestly, I didn't find the transition too tough. I spent a bit of time reading about the differences, but the interviewers didn't seem too focused on that either. Personally, I prefer C#, but maybe check out which language is more popular with employers in your area. Pick one and don’t stress too much!

Honestly, either language is a good choice. Once you learn one, picking up the other isn’t too hard. I find C# to be more enjoyable to work with, but a lot depends on the frameworks involved. If you do decide to learn Java, be prepared to dive into frameworks like Spring, which is quite different from working in C#.

That's a fair point! The environment specifics can change your experience significantly. Understanding both languages means knowing their ecosystems, which is crucial.
