Can a 600W UPS Handle a 650W Power Supply?

I'm wondering if a 1000VA UPS, which has a maximum output of 600W, can handle a power supply that's rated for 650W. My desktop doesn't actually draw more than 600W, though. Here are my PC specs to give you a better idea:
- CPU: Intel Core i5 7500
- GPU: RX 580 2048SP
- Motherboard: Asus Z170-A
- PSU: Cooler Master 650W. Any thoughts on this?

I'd recommend investing a bit more for a UPS that can handle a higher wattage just to be safe. But if you've already got the 600W UPS, you might want to test it out. Try unplugging it from the wall and see if the battery can keep your PC running. Worst-case scenario, it just shuts down if it can't handle it.

Yes, it can technically handle it, but be cautious. While your devices might not usually draw over 600W, pushing a UPS to its limits can void warranties. Manufacturers like to disclaim any responsibility, so if anything goes wrong, they might say it’s your fault for exceeding the rated power.

Definitely depends on what you're using it for! Remember, the PSU's 650W rating doesn't mean it's constantly drawing that much power. It will only pull as much as needed, which could be under 600W most of the time. Just keep that in mind!
