Can a 650W PSU Handle an RX 9070 XT with an i5-12400F?

I've got a 3060 Ti that's really struggling at 1440p, and I'm thinking about upgrading to an RX 9070. My issue is that I only have a 650W PSU, but I noticed that the RX 9070 XT isn't that much more expensive. Since my CPU, an i5-12400F, usually runs at 65W, I'm hoping to hear from anyone who's in a similar situation. My PSU is a Coolermaster MWE V2 650W Bronze 80+, which I think was rated A or B tier back in 2022. Any feedback on whether this setup would work would be appreciated!

Yep, it’s definitely doable! I’ve got a 9070 XT paired with a 9800x3D, and while I monitor everything, I don’t even hit 650W from the wall with 4K gaming on my OLED. Just keep in mind that your GPU might peak around 400W, but that’s generally short-lived. You should be safe without any issues!

It really depends on your whole setup. If you have a lot of extra stuff, like extra drives or RGB lighting, that could affect things. But I run a 9070 XT with a 5700x3D, and I don’t have any RGB or anything extra—just straight performance—and it handles just fine with a 650W PSU. So you should be good!

I have a couple of NVMe drives and 16GB RAM, plus I'm okay with turning off my fan LEDs if needed. Sounds promising if you're running fine with that CPU! Thanks!
