Hey everyone, I have a bit of a problem that's probably one of the strangest I've come across. I lent my laptop bag to a friend, and they left a banana inside it for about two to three weeks without me knowing. When I got the bag back, it was a squishy mess of banana mush. After a few hours of putting my laptop back in the bag, I noticed that the screen looked really weird—almost like it had liquid damage or some strange stains under the display. I initially thought it was something like water or beer, but then realized it was from the decayed banana. I took it to a technician who said it's unfixable and that replacing the screen would cost more than the laptop itself. Before I throw in the towel, I'm wondering if there's any hope of cleaning it or should I just get a second opinion from another technician? Is it totally ruined? I'd really appreciate any advice on this!

Unfortunately, if the screen's damaged, it's usually a total replacement. Liquid damage is tricky to tackle, especially with something as sticky and corrosive as a banana. You might want to save up for a new screen, or see if a technician offers a lower rate for repairs.

Yeah, it’s pretty much a lost cause. Just think of it as a lesson learned about what not to leave in a bag!
