Can a Router Affect My Wireless Mouse Performance?

I recently upgraded to fiber optic internet, and my router is now positioned under my desk. I'm using a Logitech G Pro wireless mouse, and I've noticed a lot of stuttering while I'm using it. Could the placement of the router be causing these issues? Is there a way to fix the problem without rearranging my entire room?

I think it could be an issue! You can try a couple of fixes:
1. If possible, disable the 2.4GHz band on your router for a test. If your mouse performance improves, then you know the router was causing issues. Just be aware that this might stop older devices from connecting.
2. Alternatively, check your router settings to change the WiFi channel, as this might help to separate the frequencies enough for the mouse to work properly without problems.

Yes, it’s definitely possible! Your router likely operates on the 2.4GHz band, which overlaps with the frequency your mouse uses. Since routers broadcast a much stronger signal, this could lead to interference, especially when they’re close together under your desk.

Absolutely! The power output of a router compared to a mouse means you could run into connectivity problems if they’re too close. Ideally, routers should be placed higher and more centrally in the room to maximize coverage. If you can’t physically move it, maybe try repositioning things around it to create some distance.
