I recently lost my Dell laptop, and I'm worried a thief might be able to reset or override the password to use or sell it. It should have Windows 11 installed. Is that possible?

Yeah, it's definitely possible for a thief to bypass a password. If there's just a BIOS lock, they can swap out the motherboard. If the hard drive is encrypted with BitLocker, they might just replace the drive. But a lot of times, they might strip the laptop for parts instead.

Actually, formatting a drive with BitLocker isn't necessary. You can just wipe it and reinstall the OS if you know what you're doing.
