I'm planning to set up a dual boot system on my mom's notebook with CachyOS, but I'm worried about the possibility of accidentally deleting her Windows files. Is there a risk of that happening with GRUB?

Not really! GRUB won’t mess with your Windows files unless you specifically tell it to do something harmful. Just be careful when setting it up. Also, it's best to get permission before making changes on someone else's hardware, you know?

Yeah, but honestly, I might just go ahead and install Linux anyway. It's not my laptop, and she already hates Linux, so what do I have to lose?
