Is This Gaming PC a Good Buy from My Girlfriend for $470?

I'm considering buying a gaming PC from my girlfriend for $470. The specs include a Ryzen 5 5600G CPU, integrated Radeon graphics with about 2 GB shared memory, 8 GB DDR4 RAM (currently a single stick, but I plan to upgrade), and a storage space of around 225-250 GB SSD. It also comes with a 22" monitor, an AM4 motherboard, and an unspecified PSU in an RGB gaming case, running Windows 10 Pro. She's only used it for about a month. I'm thinking of upgrading the RAM to 16 GB in dual-channel and adding a GPU later, like an RX 6600, mainly for 1080p gaming (like Warzone and other AAA titles). Are these specs solid for gaming? What RAM upgrade would be best, and what kind of GPU and PSU combo should I look for without overspending?

I really wouldn’t go for this one. The integrated graphics will just hold you back, and if it has a small PSU, any upgrades you make might just nullify your efforts. You might find it better to invest in something new instead.

Honestly, this doesn't seem like a great deal. Your girlfriend might have overpaid for it, and now she wants you to take on some of that cost. I’d suggest looking into other options that provide better value.

I'd say $300 would be a fair price for this setup. Your upgrade plans are good, but make sure to research newer hardware options. You can find some budget-friendly parts that outperform this setup. Plus, the storage is pretty limited, especially for games like Warzone!

Your upgrade strategy sounds smart! Consider going with a B570 or B580 motherboard for future upgrades. Also, seriously think about expanding your storage because 256GB isn’t enough for many major games. Check this out for some insights on performance improvement with Intel Arc processors!

To be honest, only the CPU, motherboard, and case have real value here, and that’s likely not more than $150 if you buy used. It’s better to look for better deals than this.
