I'm wondering if it's realistic to switch careers to become a developer despite college being off the table for me. I've heard mixed reviews about bootcamps and I'm not sure if certifications would be more beneficial. I'm self-taught, but I'm also balancing a full-time sales job and taking care of my four kids, the youngest only a month old. I've always dreamed of working in tech since many of my family members are in the field, but with all these responsibilities, I feel lost. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

The job market's pretty packed right now. While some self-taught folks manage to find work, lacking a degree or relevant education can make it hard to get past resume filters companies use, especially with so many applicants. Still, if you find coding enjoyable, go for it! Just stay realistic about the challenges you'll face in breaking into the industry right now.
That's a good point! I wonder how a different degree might impact their chances. Does any degree help at all, or is it strictly computer science?
