I'm looking to build a decent gaming computer for around $1000. I want it to run games at low graphics settings but still maintain good frame rates. I need it to be able to play the games my friends enjoy. Just to note, I already have a Corsair H150i water cooler, so that should save some cash. Can anyone help me figure out if this budget is realistic, or what parts I should consider?

You can absolutely pull off a great setup for around $1000. Make sure to do some research on specific games you want to play, and tailor your parts accordingly. It's a good idea to look at examples of completed builds online for inspiration!
Yes, you can definitely make it work! A used GPU like the 6700 XT paired with a Ryzen 5 5700X, possibly with 32GB of RAM and an SSD, would give you a great start. You can usually snag some good deals on these parts if you're willing to shop around a bit.
That sounds like a solid plan! I could probably use an old case and power supply, too.
Check out sites like Microcenter or even Facebook Marketplace for used parts; they can save you a ton. Just be cautious with what you buy, especially when it comes to the cooler since older AIOs can be a bit risky!
Thanks for the tip! The cooler I have is new, but I’ll keep that in mind.
Absolutely, you can build a solid PC for $1000 that can handle 1080p gaming quite well, and even dabble in 1440p for less demanding titles. Just make sure you're prioritizing a good graphics card and CPU. If you’re only focused on performance and don’t need peripherals, that budget should cover most of the essentials!
That’s good to know! Any specific parts you'd recommend?
Can you suggest a few good resources for completed builds?
