Can I Build a Good Streaming PC Right Now?

I'm brand new to building PCs and really diving into the PC culture. A few weeks ago, I picked up my first case (the Hyte x50) and was excited to start gathering parts. However, I've heard that prices, especially for RAM, are currently really high, making now a bad time to buy components. I'm wondering if I can still build a decent PC right now, or if I should wait for prices to drop. My budget is up to $2,000, and while it doesn't need to be top-of-the-line, I want something that can handle 4K gaming and streaming, ideally with a Vtuber setup. Additionally, any recommendations for parts that would work well with the Hyte x50, especially in white, would be greatly appreciated!

Most of the parts are available, but RAM and storage are a bit trickier right now. If you're in the States, Best Buy has been offering decent prices on RAM. Also, if there's a Microcenter near you, they have some good bundle deals. Just keep in mind that your GPU is what will really make a difference for 4K gaming. With your budget, consider going for a 9070 XT or 5070 Ti. Oh, and since your case is on the pricier side, don't forget to account for additional fans, as that might eat into your budget too!

What games are you planning to stream? That can help pinpoint what you'll really need for your build.

I'd like to stream a mix of indie games and AAA titles, plus do some drawing in Photoshop and play Nintendo Switch games, so a pretty wide range!

Yes, you can certainly put together a decent PC with your budget! For around $2,000, you could look at something like a Ryzen 9 7900X3D paired with 32GB of RAM, a 2TB SSD, and a GPU like the 5070 Ti. You might find that smaller form factor parts can be pricier, but that’s a solid target.
