I've been feeling really guilty about the energy consumption associated with Google searches, especially with the AI features involved. Is there a way to completely turn off this AI overview? I've searched through Google's settings but haven't found anything useful, and my online searches didn't yield helpful results either. I could really use some guidance here!

You might want to switch to DuckDuckGo. It’s a search engine that doesn’t use AI in the same way, so it could help reduce that guilt! Plus, they have options to opt-out of any AI features they do have.

Just to add, here's some extra info on opting out of their AI features: [Opting Out of DuckDuckGo AI Features](https://duckduckgo.com/duckduckgo-help-pages/ai-features/opting-out-of-ai) and details on their no AI page [About noai.duckduckgo.com](https://duckduckgo.com/duckduckgo-help-pages/ai-features/about-noaiduckduckgocom).

You could look into browser extensions that hide or disable those AI components. There are also alternatives like UDM14 that you can check out!

Another simple trick is to add '-ai' at the end of your search query. It actually removes the AI element from the results!
