Hey everyone! I've just purchased a used M2 Mac Mini and I've been using my big screen TV as a monitor so far. I'm thinking about getting a dedicated monitor for it, and I found a Dell monitor at the pawn shop that has DVI, DisplayPort, and VGA ports. I have an HDMI to DVI cable, but I'm curious if there's a way to connect my Mac's HDMI output to the DisplayPort on the monitor. Is there a cable for that, or is it only possible to go from DisplayPort to HDMI? I'd really appreciate any advice. Thanks in advance!

Yes, you can definitely do that, but just be cautious about the adapter's directionality.
Look on Amazon for cables. There are some options out there, but make sure you're searching for HDMI to DisplayPort since they're directional. You might also want to consider getting a different monitor that supports HDMI directly to avoid any potential adapter hassle.
Yeah, you can connect them, but I'd really suggest finding a monitor that has HDMI to avoid the complications that come with using adapters.
You should try using a USB-C to DisplayPort cable. While not every PC supports this, the M2 Mac Mini definitely does! These cables can be a bit pricier, but they're worth it for a direct connection over an adapter.

Exactly, it's way better than using HDMI to DisplayPort. Plus, all MacBooks with USB-C support DisplayPort Alt Mode on at least one of the ports.
