I accidentally purchased an M.2 SATA SSD for my GIGABYTE X870 AORUS ELITE motherboard, and now I realize they're not compatible. Is there any way to convert it to work as an NVMe, or should I just look for a converter instead? I've been searching on places like NewEgg and Amazon but can't find any options.

When did they stop including support for SATA M.2 drives? I didn't think that was a thing until recently.
Honestly, I'd just return the SSD. The performance of a SATA SSD is way lower compared to NVMe, like a fraction of the speed.
Returning it seems to be the best option if it's just a $60 difference for NVMe. You'll notice a significant speed boost.
Unfortunately, you can't convert an M.2 SATA SSD to work as NVMe. However, you could buy a housing to turn your SSD into a 2.5" SATA drive, which you can connect directly to your motherboard's SATA ports.
