Can I find someone’s IP address to retaliate after a gaming incident?

I was playing Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege with some friends when my WiFi and one of my friend's WiFi got turned off. I really don't want them to just get away with messing up my game. I have their usernames, and I'm wondering if there's a way to find their IP addresses to either boot them offline or reach out to them directly. Is that possible?

It sounds like you might have had your connection interrupted. Just so you know, you can't actually boot someone offline if you're also disconnected, and their IP address isn't something you can just grab using their username. It's also not legal to go after someone’s connection like that, so it's best to let it go.

If someone was messing with your connection, your best bet is to report them to Ubisoft. They've been cracking down on DDoS attacks, so it might help to get them involved. DDoSing used to be super common in Siege, so you're not alone in this. They actually take these issues seriously now, and it could prevent future incidents.

Totally agree! Reporting is the right move. Just don't waste time on trying to retaliate, since that could just make things worse. Better to focus on finding an ISP that provides good protection against these types of attacks.

It seems like you might have been a target of a denial of service (DoS) attack, possibly using a tool like Low Orbit Ion Cannon. I can't give you the details on how to do that since it's illegal and can lead to serious consequences. But yeah, it’s frustrating to deal with, and instead of seeking revenge, I'd advise you to just report it to your ISP and look for solutions to prevent it from happening in the future.
