I recently discovered that my i9 12900KF CPU got bent after installing a new water cooler. Now my PC won't boot; the fans start up but shut off abruptly. Is replacing the CPU my only option, or do I have any chance of fixing this?

Honestly, heat isn't what bent the CPU; it was likely caused by improperly installing the cooler. Just be careful with the mounting pressure next time. If it’s not salvageable, then unfortunately, a replacement might be necessary.
It depends on how bent your CPU is. If the bending is just due to the pressure from the cooler mounting, you might try loosening the mounting screws a bit. Sometimes just adjusting the pressure can help. If it's permanently bent, though, you may need to replace it. Make sure to check it out carefully!
Wow, I didn’t know it could be fixed that way! Guess I’ll have to inspect mine closely.
I’d recommend checking if it’s only bending from the mount. Sometimes, using a contact frame can help if you can’t loosen the mount. Just don’t overtighten it next time!

That makes sense. I've read a lot about that happening with i9s.
