Hey everyone! I've been dealing with an annoying issue on my self-built PC. My NVMe M.2 SSD slot seems to not have enough tension to keep the SSD securely in place. I started experiencing random crashes without any blue screens, followed by a few boot loops. Eventually, it would show me an error saying, "Your PC could not be repaired."
After some troubleshooting, I found that reseating the SSD temporarily fixes the problem, but it's becoming a recurring hassle. I suspect the M.2 slot has lost its grip over time since I often move my PC between houses. The SSD itself is fine; I even ran diagnostics to check its health. Is there any way I can tighten the M.2 slot myself? I'd rather not buy a new motherboard if I can avoid it. Here are the specs:
* SSD: Samsung 980 PRO 500GB
* Motherboard: Gigabyte B550I AORUS PRO AX
Thanks for any help!

Have you thought about moving the SSD to the back slot? If there's room, it might provide better tension. Just a thought since my other SSD hasn’t had any disconnection issues.
Did you make sure to use the screw on the end of the SSD? My Gigabyte board has a screw that locks the SSD in place to prevent it from wiggling loose. Unfortunately, you can't tighten the slot itself, so you'll need to ensure that screw is properly in place.
