Can I Fix My Bent CPU or Is It a Lost Cause?

Hey everyone, I recently installed a new water cooler for my i9 12900kf, and to my horror, I discovered that the CPU is bent! Now my PC won't even boot; the fans start up and then shut down immediately. Is replacement my only option, or is there any chance I can fix this? Here's a link to some pictures of the damage: https://imgur.com/a/AZ0VKch

Honestly, heat alone shouldn't be the culprit for bending your CPU. It’s more likely that the cooler wasn't installed correctly. Many people have run into this with their i9 12900k, so you're not alone. If you’re willing to send some pictures, I could take a look and help troubleshoot more.

If the CPU is only bending because of too much pressure from the cooler's mounting hardware, it might not be permanently damaged. You could try loosening those mounting screws a bit to relieve the pressure. Just make sure you're tightening everything evenly if you're going to readjust it. And if you haven't already, look into getting a contact frame for better support.

Just throwing this out there: have you checked if it's permanently bent? If it is, then replacing it might be your only option. But there’s always a chance it could just be a temporary issue caused by the cooler.
