I'm planning to upgrade my GPU from a 3070 to a 5070 Ti, but I'll still be using my old CPU, the i5 9600k, for a bit. I'm curious if this setup will be adequate for 1440p gaming or if I should expect significant performance issues. Can I still enjoy my new GPU with this CPU?

It's a good idea to check how much your CPU is currently bottlenecking your performance. A simple way to do this is by running some games you usually play, while monitoring the average FPS and those pesky 1% and 0.1% lows. After that, drop your settings way down and see if the FPS improves. If it does, there’s still some room for your new GPU to shine. If not, you might already be maxing out your CPU and won't see much of a difference with the new card. You could still go ahead with getting the 5070 Ti now and consider upgrading your CPU later if needed!

Thanks for the tip! Do you have a recommended program for recording FPS?
